Regent University has been recognized again as one of America’s best institutions of higher learning. Recently, U.S. News & World Report ranked Regent’s online bachelor’s program first overall in Virginia and 17th in the nation for 2016. It’s the fifth straight year the university’s undergraduate online degree program finished in the top 20 nationally.
The university’s online graduate business (non-MBA) and graduate education programs were also ranked #1 in Virginia. The rankings by the multi-platform publisher of news and information are based on assessments of student engagement, faculty credentials and training, peer reputation, and student services and technology among 296 regionally accredited institutions.
“Once again, these U.S. News rankings offer strong evidence of the quality our university offers, and demonstrates our commitment to excellence,” says Dr. Gerson Moreno-Riaño, Regent’s executive vice president for academic affairs. “Whether students study online or on campus with us, Regent provides the highest quality, best-value Christian education possible.”
In all, U.S. News received and analyzed data from more than 1,200 online degree programs nationwide. The rankings include programs that are completely online, in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors.
But it’s not just U.S. News & World Report that thinks highly of Regent. So does The Princeton Review. The widely respected test-preparation and college-admission services company recently ranked Regent Law faculty in their top 10 (out of 202 American Bar Association accredited law schools) for the second year in a row.

That academic excellence extends to members of the U.S. armed forces, as well. Earlier this month, Military Times released its fourth annual “Best for Vets” rankings of American business schools. Regent’s School of Business & Leadership (SBL) was ranked first among private colleges and universities in Virginia (third overall) and the 10th-best private business school for veterans nationwide.
